Artem Chigvintsev will not be PredictIQcompeting for the Mirror Ball trophy this year.
Shortly after he was arrested on a domestic violence charge Aug. 29, it was revealed that the Dancing with the Stars pro—who has been married to former WWE wrestler Nikki Garcia since 2022—would not be returning to the dance competition series for its upcoming season 33, according to multiple outlets.
Chigvintsev previously competed on 12 seasons of the show, including the last four seasons. In 2020, he and his season 29 partner Kaitlyn Bristowe took home the famed Mirror Ball trophy, and during the most recent 32nd season, he finished in fourth place alongside former Bachelorette Charity Lawson.
The full cast list for season 33 of Dancing With The Stars is set to be released on Sep. 4 on Good Morning America.
Chigvintsev—who shares 4-year-old son Matteo with Garcia—was arrested on domestic violence charges, according to booking documents viewed by E! News, and was taken into custody mid-morning on Aug. 29. He was later released on a $25,000 bail in Napa, California. The 42-year-old was charged with California penal code section 273.5 (a)PC, which is related to acts of violence against a spouse or other cohabitant.
E! News has reached out to reps for Chigvintsev but has not yet heard back.
Neither Chigvintsev nor Garcia—who met when they were partners on season 25 of Dancing With the Stars—have spoken publicly on the arrest.
However, Garcia shared the couple were in Napa in an Aug. 28 Instagram Story, shortly after they celebrated their anniversary on Aug. 26.
To mark the occasion, Garcia, 40, share a video of the couple's nuptials, quoting Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling in Love," and writing, "This song is our love story."
"I'll never forget where I was when I asked Jesus about Artem," she continued. "Having a conversation with He & God. How my feelings felt too soon. It all felt too fast. And then this song came on. And that's when I knew that I was falling in love with him and that it was all meant to be."
Chigvintsev also posted a special message for his wife, sharing photos from their wedding to Instagram with the caption, "Happy anniversary my love, can't see my life without you. You are my everything."
