Tom Schwartz is getting over one Katie with another.
Following the Vanderpump Rules star's 2022 divorce from Katie Maloney, the Bravolebrity sparked a new romance with Below Deck Mediterranean's Katie Flood while filming season three of Winter House.
"I think that they actually had a lot of chemistry," Tom's costar Kyle Cooke exclusively told E! News ahead of the Oct. 24 premiere. "What's cool about Katie, she put it out there. She's like, 'I'm like a nomad, I'm a yachtie, I'm here to have fun.' Most chicks that say it's no strings attached are just saying that. But Katie Floody, she was like, 'No strings attached, Tom, let's have some fun.' It was a best case scenario."
The Summer House star admitted that the casual romance was exactly what the TomTom co-owner needed to move on from his ex-wife, who he had been in the middle of divorcing while filming Winter House season two.
"He was definitely distant and not fully present, you could just tell something was weighing him down," the Loverboy founder noted. "Fast forward a year, it's not like the guy had completely recovered. My sole purpose of that trip practically was to help him get his mojo back, because I just felt like he thought he was broken and there's never a shot in hell that he'll find love again."
But that doesn't mean that Cooke is taking sides in Schwartz and Maloney's breakup.
"I love Katie, I want what's best for both them," he added, "but I could just see it in his eyes that he needed to have fun. He needed to take his mind off things."
Costar Brian Benni agreed, especially as Schwartz was also dealing with the fallout surrounding business partner Tom Sandoval's affair with Rachel "Raquel" Leviss.
"He needed some positivity," the Family Karma star echoed. "He had his tail between his legs with Sandoval and Katie and all that stuff coming into Winter House, so he needed a boost of love."
See Schwartz and Flood's romance play out when Winter House premieres tonight, Oct. 24, at 9 p.m. on Bravo. And keep reading to learn more about season three.
